Long Running Script
8 Answers
Occasionally when trying to access my Outlook email (Hotmail), I get a window stating 'live.com is not responding due to a long running script' with a 'Stop Script' box option. When this is pressed I can access as normal. This is happening almost every time now, how can I erase this 'script' whatever this is?? Thanks.

You could try this:
In Internet Explorer, click on 'Tools' and then on 'Internet Options'.
Click the 'Advanced' tab.
Click to remove the tick next to 'Display a notification about every script error'.
Click 'OK'.
However a far, far better option would be to install a DECENT browser!!!

In most cases, you can ignore the message. Script error messages are displayed by Internet Explorer when there is a problem with the JavaScript or VBScript code on the website you are viewing. Occasionally a script error can be caused by an error in downloading a webpage, but more often it is an error in the webpage itself. You can however disable "script debugging" if it is happening on multiple sites. I would firstly though clear your "history" or at least cache, empty your recycle bin, reset your wifi modem if you are wireless, and do a safe reboot. If the problem persists you can disable script debugging in the "Tools menu". Click on Internet Options as previously advised[ reluctantly :)) ]and on the Advanced tab, click to select the Disable script debugging check box. And then click OK. If you need to clear notification about every script error in Internet Explorer, on the Advanced tab, "click to clear the Display a notification about every script error check box", and then click OK.
Thanks to all of you for your suggestions, I will now try using Firefox instead. I already have it installed, but stopped using it because I seemed to have more problems than with IE. However following your instructions (i.e. IE, Tools,.., Advanced), I see that 'Disable Script Debugging (IE)' and 'Disable Script Debugging (Other)' are already ticked. But 'Display a notification about every script error' is not! Help please!!
