Six Monthly/yearly Dental Check-Up ...

When you receive a letter from the Dentist you are NHS registered with saying it's time to arrange your 6/12 monthly check-up. (£18 -£20+) can one at age 67,having two dentures,top and bottom and only about 4 original teeth left, decline the check-up,telling your receptionist that everything is O.K. and can you make me out another appointment in 6months from now ?? OR is it Compulsory to attend ?

I think it easiest to contact them and ask, some are stricter about your contract with them, whether NHS or private.

Hopefully yours is flexible.

Never compulsory but always a good idea..not just teeth but oral health check..like an optician..not just about your vision...

Often the Dental Surgery will cross you off their books if you do not attend.
I feel it's an unfair practice but I suppose it ensures that they would argue that it is perfectly reasonable....

don't just "not attend" call them to postpone .. I did for quite some time whilst dad was ill..simply did not have the time...all was well... back to 6 month checks..going back this Thursday actually....
