Why Does It Happen To Us?
22 Answers
We are staying at St Aubin sur Mer. So we started to get organised for going out this morning. We were going to a place that made Benedictine. So put details in the satnav and were just about to take off when we realised it was a lot further away than we thought. Did some investigation and discovered another town called St Aubin sur Mer about 100 miles further along the coast. When OH had done his homework regarding days out he had used the wrong town. Consequentially all his hard work on days out were ruined as they were not in a good distance from where we are.
This happened to us a few years back, again in France, we were heading for a town, I can't remember the name now, and I like to use a map to see where we were going. I discovered we were heading for the wrong one, 250 miles adrift from where we were going, luckily we were able to rectify it.
Also today the sat nav really played up. We went to Caen and coming home every time I entered details in of the town we wanted it said 3 minutes away when we knew it was an hour. Ended up having to buy a new one as France would be too difficult without one.
What will tomorrow bring us I wonder!!

Hi Gness.
I used to live in Ecclesfield, between Sheffield and Barnsley and just down the road from Europe's largest privately-owned house, Wentworth Woodhouse. The people who ran our local shop got fed up of trying to explain to golf fans, who were seeking directions to Wentworth golf course (in Surrey), that they were 175 miles away from their destination ;-)
