Should the UK team approach other EU members directly and override this French clown?

perhaps not but why are you so anti british that you want that? Why not simply move to EU land and be happy?
//Is your mum around to put a wet facecloth on your forehead Tora? Has it been a busy day for you. Poor lamb.//

What a perfect statement of small-mindedness.

Congratulations!

Are Exeter or Keele doing courses in this?
I can understand all you leave voters being frustrated but really, kicking and screaming like tartrazine crazed infants isn't very becoming.

I've said this dozens of times on here but with a government who were pro Europe, how did you expect this to pan out?
Remain voters are not trying to "sabotage" anything (which is what 5th columnist tends to denote). They just disagree, that's it.

This idea that people with the wrong opinions (or worse, people who commit the thought crime of being insufficiently optimistic) are somehow sabotaging the state is really insidious and, frankly, crazy.
It's also completely illogical. Those who voted leave did so as a protest. Little man syndrome if you will. Rage against the machine as an alternative. The more intelligent among us realised the *** muddle this would end up as.

This post and all Tora's other ones being proof.

Who does this (select species of choice) think (select species of choice) is?

'Who does this (select species of choice) think (select species of choice) is?'

Further proof.
"Those who voted leave did so as a protest."

I didn't. I voted in order to see the UK out of the EU. I wan't protesting against anything or anybody (other than our membership)

"Little man syndrome if you will. Rage against the machine as an alternative."

As an alternative to what? I was asked a simple question and I gave a simple answer.

"The more intelligent among us realised the *** muddle this would end up as."

Even the less intelligent among us realised that it would not be easy. You cannot undo 40 years of wretched entanglement easily. But you do not decline to do something just because it may prove a bit tricky. Sometimes things that are difficult have to be done because it is the right thing to do.
So, NJ you admit you voted, in protest, at our membership.

Little man syndrome was my alternative to people who voted in protest but this doesn't apply to you as you've already admitted to voting in protest.

As far as being 'the right thing to do' the jury, no pun intended, is still out.
"So, NJ you admit you voted, in protest, at our membership."

No I voted to leave. It wasn't as a protest against anybody or any group (which is what I believed you were suggesting). I have protested (to myself and my friends, not marching in the street) against the UK's membership of the EU ever since 1992 (and I wasn't that keen before then). I was given the opportunity to say whether I wanted the country to leave or remain so I voted to leave. You can call that a protest if you like. However I interpret protesting as making your views known without necessarily having the immediate opportunity to do much about it (like the CND marches of the 1960s). I simply answered a question in the belief that my answer, if it accorded with the majority of those who voted, would be acted upon.
