Will This Proposal See A Reduction In Cars On Scottish Roads?

Electric vehicles aren't cheap, nor, I guess, are second-hand ones. Will this proposal force younger Scottish drivers onto bicycles or busses?

Of course if electric vehicles were such a godsend there would be no need for compulsion. Drivers would be queuing up at the dealers to buy them. I wonder why they are not?
The distances between some conurbations in Scotland is quite large and the infrastructure not too good. It takes longer to get from Edinburgh to Wick by train than it does to get from Edinburgh to London and back. Good luck to the Scots and their illustrious leader's plan to force them to go electric. I think a little more thought might need to be given to the plan as not everybody lives in Edinburgh or Glasgow.
