Window Replacements - Colchester Area

Can anyone recommend/advise to avoid any window replacement firms in the Colchester area? Wooden casement windows need replacing (preferably again with timber) but I don't necessarily want to use one of the big national firms if there's someone reliable locally. Tried "Rated People" but you don't get details about the contractors before they are given your info to contact you. Thanks.

Window installation tends to be seen as an easy job. One week you're a tyre fitter, and the next your're a window fitter ;o(

Look for a small local builder or handyman, or a local carpenter. The bigger companies are usually fine for uPVC, but a builder would know what to problems to look out for.

Ask at a local Builders' Merchants for names of likely suspects.
