Another Hero Has Passed Away, So Sad!

One of my clients passed away today. He was a squadron leader and flew a spitfire in the Battle of Britain. Such a lovely gentle man. I will miss him, I have become very fond of him over the 14 months I have cared for him.

Fighter Command in WW2 lost about 5,000 men....killed.
Bomber Commad in WW2 lost over 50,000 men ...killed.
Brave men all.

Absolutely Sqad, every single one of them? man and woman.
RATTER...funny thing....the Luftwaffe and the R.A.F had great respect for each other and when Douglas Bader was shot down, Adolf Galland, who later became the youngest General in the Luftwaffe organised a Mess Dinner with Bader being the guest. They remained friends until the death of Bader.
Sqadron Leader Rose was a brave man, a man amongst many and of course Spitfire pilots were the glamour boys, although Hurricanes shot down more enemy planes than the Sptifire.
A hero indeed, sleep well gentle man xx
R.I.P. Squadron Leader. We are for ever in your debt.
