What's your Landmark?
Years back we had a big old Dobie/GSD Cross who no matter where we had been, what time of day or night it was was would always get up in the back of the Estate we had at the time ready to 'go out' as soon as we got to the last roundabout on the way home, it was about a mile away and effectively in the middle of nowhere, not even lit up.

The Stockport pyramid used to tell us we were only minutes out of Manchester Airport when we were flying home, I think it is/was the Co-op Bank. As a child I was amazed that Blackpool Tower 'moved' as we drove towards Blackpool, it's so big. We tried to convince our children of the same thing but they were too savvy.
Depends which direction , but Winter Hill transmitter always tells me not far to go now.
