Sony Tv Screen Gone Blue
3 Answers
My Sony KDL26EX302 (2011) picture went blank while watching and i now have a Blue screen showing the TV station in the top corner. The remote control can still go from station to station but shows no picture nor do i have any sound. I am unable to access menu from remote control. Can anything be done or is it time to head to the dump?

Someone posted a similar question here several years ago and, after I'd given him that suggestion, he reported back that he's found his aerial lying in his back garden!).
Then check the cabling from the aerial to the TV set.
If you've got an aerial booster disconnect it and try feeding the signal directly to the telly instead. (One more than one occasion I've had a sudden loss of picture because my aerial booster has packed up. A duff booster can totally block a signal).

Just a further thought:
If you've got an external device, such as a DVD player, (or you can borrow one), try connecting it to a HDMI socket (or a Scart one if it's an older device), changing 'Source' to recognise an HDMI (or Scart) input and seeing if you get a a picture and sound. If you do then either:
(a) your problem getting a normal TV picture relates to your aerial (as I suspect) ; or
(b) probably less likely, the TV tuner part of your TV has packed up but the rest of it is working.
If it turns out to be (a), above, then you obviously need to sort out your aerial problem . If it's (b) you don't need to buy a new telly. You can simply buy a Freeview set-top box for about £20 (or a bit more if you want an HD model) and connect it to an HDMI socket.
