Get some peppercorns and crush them in a mortar; get a slab of steak and coat it with the crushed peppercorns (you can gently bash them in with a rolling pin if you want); get a pan very hot with a little oil and fry the steak on both sides until just short of how you like it and then take it out and keep warm. Add some brandy to the pan, set alight briefly, scrape the pan to get all the tasty bits, take off the heat and pour in some cream and stir. Season and pour over the steak and serve immediately.
