My advise would be, eat grapefruit a couple of times a day - it's diuretic, don't eat any carbs after 5pm cos you wont use them for energy and they'll be stored as fat, if you eat table salt change to sea salt, swap white bread and white rice for brown (white rice is heinous anyway, it bloats you big time), everywhere you walk, keep your tummy muscles tight and your bum tucked in - you'll be suprised - you can even do the tummy bit when sitting down, it'll help tone you up. Lastly, if you really want a cake/choc/pkt crisps for goodness sakes have it, otherwise you'll just end up rebelling against the whole thing and it will all be for nothing. Just do a bit more exercise the next day. I lost 3 stone two years ago and the weight has stayed off. Good luck xxx
Hi mrs.pudding I lost 5 stone on a sensible WW diet plus I used to be borderline anorexic as a teenager so I have loads of dieting experience. What I learned when on the WW plan is that losing about 2Lb a week really does mean it stays off. When I used to hit a plateau I found it so upsetting but what used to happen is that you get a few weeks where not much happens and then suddenly (usually when you're on the verge of a chocolate binge) it starts coming off at the same rate again. What I learned from my teenage years is that it really is true that if you crash diet you lose weight very fast but the instant you start eating normally it piles back on depressingly fast and your metabolism is messed up for a long time.
I'm not saying it has to be the WW diet but any sensible plan will do! Stick with it and the weight will come off quicker than you think and stay off :-)
Well done on getting the weight off.
I've started a weight loss plan called Lighterlife which after 24 years of yo-yo dieting, I've managed to lose 5 stone in 20 weeks. If you've got 3 stone or more to shift this could be the fast way to get rid of your 'excess baggage'. If you want to find out more check out their website www.lighterlife.co.uk for your local group/counsellor.
It's not cheap at 45 per week but it provides all your food packs, you don't need to shop for other foods, you're not weighed in front of others, the group is led by a counsellor and the results are fantastic- they guarantee you losing a stone a month!
In my first 4 weeks I lost 26lb - puts Weightwatchers in the shade eh?
Whatever you do though, best of luck as I know it's tough.
