I want to make a photobook for my MotherInLaw as a suprise gift however she has a lot of photos/albums that she would miss if I took them out of her house to bring home and use my scanner to scan them.
I have thought about bringing my scanner to her house but it needs to be connected to a computer which they don't have.
So I am wondering if there is a clever way to scan them while I am in her house instead?
I have seen apps which act as scanners but are they any use?
All suggestions welcome.
Thanks.

Only way, and it will give not great results, is to take her album to the bog (for a long session) and photograph all the pics on a decent phone/ipad.

Or get clever and borrow her albums one by one (overnight?) and scan them all through the night, rushing back to her int morning...
Knowing how hard it is to take a photograph of a document (and end up with a decent result) I'd have my doubts as to whether you'd get the sort of quality you'd need from the type of app you're referring to.

Have you got (or can you borrow) a laptop that you could take, along with your scanner, to your MIL's house? (If so, remember to install the scanner software first and to take a USB lead for the connection).

Thanks for your answers and sorry for the delay in replying.

I think taking the scanner to her house is the only way to get a decent result. However I don't think I would have a clue how to install the software. Is that a hard job to do?
