I heard in the news the other day,that �540,000,000 had been put into the csa a couple of years ago to try and improve things.I have had to ,within the last 2/3 weeks,start to involve them reg.non payments from ex.As far as i can tell they are just as crap as they ve always been.This is what made me drop them for chasin my payments a few years ago.Now im on the so called new system-it just seems nothings changed.wouldnt the gov. be bettter puttin the money into the courts were they have more legal jurisdiction for dead beats who dont and wont pay. Your thoughts on this please.

The CSA seems to only have managed to harrass people who have always paid maintenance anyway. Of course there have been some success stories, however the number of people who have committed suicide (Mr Pippa even considered it during his darkest moments) due to CSA errors or blatant harrassment has been swept under the carpet...

Basically, the system they have stinks. They can only act on information given by both parties, and either one of them can lie through their teeth and get away with it. Mr Pippa is on the old system, which is an unfair system to operate on. It will be years, if at all, before he gets to be assessed on the new system. In the meantime, due to CSA errors/feet dragging and his ex wifes lies he has �15,000 worth of arrears on paper ~ considering he pays �500 per month for one child and always has done, I can't see how these arrears add up? for goodness sakes, he went hungry in order to fulfil his responsibilities while she lived it up in Spain!

In the meantime the CSA is always late in paying his ex wife (it goes out of his salary at source) and she refuses contact with his child until it hits her bank. The CSA has failed families all over the country..men, women & children.

The sooner it is handed back to the courts the better, IMO.

Thanks for your response pippa,cant believe its the only one!.I can only imagine what its been like for you and mr.pippa.Thats the other side of the coin, isnt it the fact that dads who want to pay are still having their assesments done incorrectly.I hope its sorted now for you both, and i can only hope mine is sorted out fairly soon too.Im not holdin my breath tho!The hole system seems so unfair and gives out such false hope.

I have been chasing the CSA for 4 YEARS!!!!!!!! MY ex has not paid so much as a penny to me - he just ignores all their letters.I have rang them endless times but have I got anywhere?? No!!!! Grrrrrrrrr

That's another part of the problem isn't it ~ decent people like Mr Pippa are paying for people who don't!

If a guy is earning thousands and his ex is on benefits she will still only recieve the benefit amount..the rest goes into the coffers.

I do hope you both get it sorted..we are still paying for CSA mistakes 10 years on, and it doesn't look like improving :o(

Hi Pippa/scruffscat. The whole CSA thing is a joke.My b/f has had letter after letter chasing him for money for his ex(which he has filled in) and yet the same authority after 4 years cant be bothered to chase my ex.

yes pink ~ and meanwhile your b/fs arrears are clocking up, no doubt! it took a year for the CSA to work out the proper calculation for Mr Pippa. In that time he was paying his ex cash as she wouldn't take cheques..of course she didn't tell the CSA she had received monies, so he had to pay it all again.

He only did it because he didn't want his daughter to go without..and so many people don't give a toss about that..even the CSA :o(

exactly Pippa - it is so infuriating!! The CSA know where my ex workd/lives but he just told them once that he would reply and they have never bothered to get back to him!!

pinkfizz, I'd give up now if I were you. My wife has a son with a man who has never paid a penny ( he's 21 now) and the CSA have been involved since it's inception in this case as my wife , for her son's sake, just wanted a token responsibility against this man and depsite the fact that he is very well off and they know his whereabouts and details, this has gone on for years and years. He has arrears of over �70,000 from when her son was young enough to have been eligible for support from his natural father and five years after he was 16 , they are still doing nothing to get the money off him. On the other hand, an ex girlfriend of mine had a baby and asked me if she could put my name down as being the father which I agreed to and went with her and registered him despite the fact that he wasn't mine ( why is a long story). She then injured herself and had to claim benefits for a short time and the CSA were on me like a shot, so there is no rhyme or reason to them at all, but I've never actually heard ANYONE say a good word about them.

I can't understand why the CSA haven't slapped an attachment to earnings order on people they know the details of ~ Mr Pippa has one, at his ex wifes request. Of course this means she is totally at their mercy too, as although the money leaves his salary at source she doesn't receive it until the CSA decide to send it..which is quite often once every 3 months.

How can the CSA be so bloody inconsistent?

I agree totally - the inconsistency is so mental!How can they harass my b/f with endless letters /phone calls/faxes etc(which he does reply to by the way) and yet not bother with my ex who lives 5 miles away and comes under the same area!!! Agggghhhhh

im in dispare with the csa...my boy is now 3 yrs old and i do not get a penny for him! i make calls to csa every few months and its a road to nowhere...how does the goverment think we can make children survive on fresh air i have no idea!
If it wasnt for my parents id surley sink under in a mound of debt, but its not my parents responsability is it...its between me and the father of my son....he lords it up on holidays and down the pub every week.....and the good old csa just doesnt care in the slightest!
