Juncker is scared stiff that the EU might be breaking up around him, that is why he want Britain to suffer, so as to scare other countries from leaving. If May had any sense she would stop trying to come to terms with him and tell him he has had his chance we are not up for any more negotiating, and that we are leaving.

"The EU is disintegrating"

What else was in your dreams Tora (careful how you answer :-) )
The EU needs serious reform I don't deny that, but that is not quite the same thing.

The Austrians have already had one public warning for electing “unacceptable” politicians. As I mentioned in a thread a couple of weeks ago, in 2000 sanctions were imposed against the country for allowing members of the Freedom Party (who had been properly elected and who had broken no laws) to join a coalition government. The country was "punished" by the imposition of minor sanctions which lasted about a year.

Now we see an almost identical situation. The new Austrian Prime Minister has been warned that he must form a “pro-European” government (for which read one which supports the EU 110%). In other words, you can elect any government you like so long as it is one we agree with.

How anybody can support this vile, anti-democratic bunch of crooks and shysters is totally beyond me. And we see our elected leaders (presumably who are suitably acceptable to the Euromaniacs) grovelling around trying to stitch together a “deal” so that they will kindly allow us to leave their wretched organisation without them causing us too much trouble.

yes judge, the EUSSR hates democracy, "How anybody can support this vile, anti-democratic bunch of crooks and shysters is totally beyond me." - plenty of fans on here, perhaps, between them they can find something good about the EU, I have yet to extract it TBF!

But it shows no signs of serious reform, does it?
So what other option was there other than leave?
(please don't go on about 'from within')
Is Herr Kurz "ant-EU" as the Express trumpets?
I can't see any evidence whatever for that. in fact the OVP is rabidly pro-Europe compared to the British Tories for example.
II also can't find any evidence outside the Express for the idea that the EU is "dictating" to the new PM what sort of government to form. That is up to him.
As for the disintegration of the EU, just to take an example, since the Brexit vote support for EU membership in France has risen, and to date at least, all 27 other EU-member countries seem remarkably united in their negotiating position regarding Brexit.
^^^given many of the 27 receive more than they contribute, I have no doubt at all they are remarkably united in their negotiating position in wanting the most out of us they can possibly get, otherwise they're going to see their coffers not quite as full as they have been.
the eu is a giant ponzi scheme with unelected parasites creaming off eu tax payers money, and ex eastern block countries syphoning off what they can get for their mismanaged economies, who are the winners.. britain is not one for sure, germany and france basically run it, but it's mostly germany with france being the yes man, europe is ruined, just look at merkels decision to let all the worlds wastrels in, and then telling other eu countries you have to take you share...you call that democratic.
It really isn't hard to understand that in Austria the Right, and the Far Right, have benefited from the incompetence and lethargy of the Centre and the Left. More than 50 per cent of Austrian voters voted for the Right. This problem is not going to go away. I think it might be seriously worrying. But you shouldn't blame the Right. You should blame those who did nothing about peoples' concerns.

steady fender getting a bit close to the truth there!
It is a matter of time. The EU will either disintegrate as nations recognise bullies and stand up for themselves 0R it will become a soviet collective, with all that the Stalin regime imposed in order to hold tight power.

The EU has already shown (in Barcelona) that it is not averse to violence being used to subjugate and subdue. Anyone still wanting to be part of it needs, in my humble op., 'their bumps feeling'.
"It really isn't hard to understand that in Austria the Right, and the Far Right, "... etc etc

You shouldn't confuse Austria's "right" and Austria's "far right".
There is precious little in common between the two.
What a powerful word is "Nazi", you can throw it in to anybody you don't agree with and it has an instant deleterious effect, but ask the accuser exactly what do they mean by it, and they can't say.
Question Author
well the Nazis were socialists Khandro, I always assume that's what they mean.
I'd like to be a fly on the wall when SK has a word with the drunkard.

The EU should be in a position to flourish, however it has become so corrupt and has people like Junker. Barnier and Merkle (and yes she does) running it who are more interested in themselves than building what should be a great Nation.

It will never flourish whilst there are individual Nations, in addition the Euro will never work. One thing Junker is right on (as I have said on here beforee) is that the only way forward is to have one elected body, one currency, one set of rules and laws and one language. Every country to be effectively the same. You could have current countries as States but personally I would not go that route.

But none of this will happen, the bickering and inequality will bring it down. That is why it is best we are out.

unelected gangster bureaucrats who's battle cry is..everything shall be magnolia, if you dont agree your a bad machine..
