Just in case you won't aware of it, your ashes scattering task (involving the Flying Scotsman), scheduled for this Saturday, will have to be put back by three weeks because of a hot-running axle box on the loco:

Thanks, yes i have just seen it on the news. Nov 11th is the new date.
I've been out looking for a good vantage point, the rail line runs just 50 yards from my house but it's screened by high trees.
I'll let my friends wife know tomorrow, she is at work now.

Thanks for your reply.

I thought that you'd probably know about it but, just in case you didn't, I thought it best to post the information anyway. It's likely that the same timetable will be used but the train's passage doesn't seem to have been booked yet.
We wanted to something train related with my dad's ashes but couldn't find anything that seemed right. He is swimming with the fish in Loch Earn instead.
Be careful when you do scatter them.
An old guy I know, who was in the RAF was given the job of scattering ashes from a Dakota over Dartmoor. They opened the door, threw them out and they all came back into the aircraft. Ashes don't taste very nice :-)
he sleeps with the fishes, wolf? Who are you, The Godmother?
Loch Erne, wolf?
I know it fairly well.
Loch Earn.
I don't know that one, Douglas.
They hold the World Fishing Championship? in Loch Erne.
I could see keen fishermen wanting to 'end up' there.
Ah, I'm with you. Well done
