You seem to remember more than I then.
It’s called ‘age’ weecalf. Foods which help are nuts, dark chocolate and blueberries, according to a radio 4 programme I listened to the other day.
Yes weecalf as ZM states it's called age.I am 82 and my problem is trying to remember peoples names,it is quite frustrating when you suddenly cannot remember a persons name you have known for years.
Interesting....I don't know the answer.
You are suggesting that numbers are stored in a different part of the brain to other facts.
You may well be correct.
I agree that names and facts disappear before numbers in the ageing process.

I am not too aged but some names I just forget but ask me any time those numbers I've mentioned and I will never forget those but even when talking to people I would forget their name in the middle of a conversation .
Dyscalculia is a kind of number blindness, this could suggest that numbers are stored differently or maybe its just the mathematical side of numbers that is affected. I am totally useless at remembering number, I can never remember my mobile phone number "had the same one for 12 years" cant remember my landline number or my post code!
As I get older, I am finding that I can recall things that happened years ago, especially when I was a boy in the 50's and 60's, rather better than what happened last year.

I am not sure what that means, although I am fairly sure that I am not alone.
It could just be that you may use those numbers on frequent basis whereas you may only see a certain person rarely. I pay quite a few of my monthly bills on line and each time i do, i have to give my 16 digit debit card number. I also remember; my army number from the late 70s, the numbers of every house i have lived in since childhood, the dates of birth of not only my children, but my 8 grand-children also. Yet if i bump into someone i rarely see in town, i often don't recall their name until much later. I don't really think it has anything to do with ageing. More the level of importance attached to numbers/names and faces.
I remember my first payroll number at 17..also my gran's cooperative number... neither have been used for 40 + years...but sometimes names take a bit longer to come...if I have had no contact for a good time....
It's funny you say that MM. I remember my Mum's co operative no: too! I can also rattle off my national insurance number, no trouble. I know a lot of people have to look as they can't recall it. I do have a job recalling names and words sometimes. I think mine is due to lack of sleep sometimes.
I've always had fun trying to remember names.
The number of times I've mentioned to Mr Alba that I met doodah or thingy is increasing.
But, numbers I can remember very well.
