Is there any way of working in US without a social security number, i.e. self employed or something or is it a total impossibility ????

I believe that you can get a Visa based on being an employer, howerver, you have to employ a certain amount of people and have quite a bit of start up capital.

Of course, if you sell/give up the business then your shipped back to where you came from.

The visa that khana is on about you need to invest a minimum of $1million and employ at least 10 US citizens who are not relatives of yours!
