I just took a rather awkward tumble. Leg bent back under me and I was down in a flash.
Had to take the bleeding boots off so I could stand up...hobbled home in socks.
Nothing hurt...but I bet I'll have some sore bits tomorrow.

You should stay off the railway tracks.
does everything wriggle ok? Ankles, knees, toes?
Have a ht bath and relax.

Phone council and tell them they need to do some serious sweeping up.

"Sweeping up"???
You're having a laff ;-0

I think they scatter them so unsuspecting old ladies do belly flops.
skied on me sticks the other day, council said they'd get a machine out.
Am not holding my breath....
Ouch!!!
Good reminder pasta x
your boots were bleeding... :-D

i remember my rather spectacular slip down the canal bank steps, it was icy, I slipped and bounced the rest of the way down on my butt. hurt like ***** but i bet it looked really funny

Hah! I probably looked like floundering fish...
Dog just stared at me.
Yes leaves can be slippery. My Nan broke her hip after slipping on wet leaves.
I saw a guy once kick a heaped pile of leaves only to hear him help in agony as there was a brick hidden underneath.
Thanks for the reminder, pasta. I sprained an ankle badly last Nov. and it still isn't quite right. Take care all (in manner of PC Dixon).

Were a lifesaver last Autumn and winter, whilst others were doing the "John wayne walk" trying to avoid falling I could walk briskly and confidently through, leaves, ice and snow, although there wasn't any but I'd be confident anyways.

Best £2.49 you can spend if you value your health/life.
Slippery leaves can be lethal, hope you are ok Pasta.

Juhulaye...I'd thought of getting those a few years ago when we had extreme cold and frost. Unusual in this part of the country...we just get slimey leaves. :-(
The soreness and aches are kicking in, tomorrow will be fun. Thank goodness I'm off work. I can suffer alone.
As much as the hurt of the fall, Pasta....it's the sudden shock you get going from happy and upright to flat on your back...... :-(
....and the disbelief that it's actually happened. 'How have I fallen over?' It doesn't seem real when it happens, until the pain kicks in.

Sooooo true! I was lying there thinking how the heck am I gonna get up...and avoid the squished worm on one side?? :-0
Luckily there was a strong fence to grab. Where's the strong men when you need them? ( Last time this happened...men just looked and did nothing )
Question Author
Oh...the pain is kicking in now. There's also the panicky " can I walk...? "
I did that many years ago - black and blue down one keg that went over my kerbing to the rose beds above me...

However, that wasn't the real damage, come January, my shoulder seized up and needed major physio and heat treatment to unlock it.
Ibuprofen and Paracetemol, pasta, covers both muscular and nerve damage and you can take both together.
Ditto slippery decking, did my annual Torville and Dean imitation the other day. What's a good way of getting rid of the slime, it's not leaves, it's just slimey?
