Do you click on the black cross on the grey background besides some of the main forums in the list ?

The grey boxes with crosses on don’t appear OG. It’s as if the visible page is too large, and it’s obscuring what should be displayed.
Surely the first column ones should. Maybe you have a browser issue. The page is 100% zoom ? What if you try another browser ?

Joined AB this morning OG and there they were. After checking ChatterBank posts then hitting back button they’ve disappeared again.
Does the sub menu appear if you left click the refresh circle top left of page,(not the red refresh box shown on AB) and when the page has reloaded if you click the "hamburger" menu drop down are the sub menu crosses there?
I am not sure why the subsections are there as they don't seem to add anything. Anyway, if they don't appear on the menu you can usually find them within each category where Ed has a message and links to subsections in red.
I have had the same issue a few times- perhaps it was on my ipad

They can be useful FF if you want to post a "Question" say in Sport that is specific to one of the sub titles.
I know, but there aren't that many posts in Sports so I'm not sure why it needs to have several subdivisions as well as the main Sports bit. Some sections get far more traffic and we don't divide those up. Anyway, perhaps I'm digressing and clearly it's important to Malagabob
It sometimes happens to me using edge browser but is OK using Chrome. Strange thing is when you first load AB after start up it is OK in Edge. After a few minutes, or if you have entered a thread then gone back to your home profile page, the sub menus are missing when you drop down the category menu. However doing the "refresh" using the browser circle top left, but not with AB refresh, they are again there. Doesn't really inconvenience me because I know to do that if I want them to post or search for a topic.
It seems odd to me that the layout of AB is so different depending on which device I use- laptop, ipad or phone.
Stopped using my phone now though- I get a spam "your phone is infected" message as soon as I open a post
malagabob.....What Browser are you using.?

Edge and Internet Explorer often have problems with AB.

Hans.
Not an answer to your question but I agree with f. f.
Due to a reduction in posters and the content of AB being mainly chitchat, subsections are now redundant.
I'm less than impressed that the search box is missing from the page and only found in 'View All Categories' on my tablet. I prefer the desktop layout.
I find everything fine using Firefox including sub sections. However, there would appear to be some compatibility issues with AB by using Edge as your browser.

I get the same issues as malagabob if I use Edge. I think a post in the AB Editors blog would possibly elicit a better response.
It is, I think, something to do with the inherent security features built into Edge. May be wrong, but I have had a dig around in the past on the Microsoft forums, and it is not only AB that has issues.

Using my iPad and Safari. It’s only recently, that the problem if you call it that is happening. If I clear history and website data they appear then disappear after viewing a different subject.
With both Edge and Safari you have to refresh the page to get them back. Its a known problem.
