Angel 5th Season

Not so much a question but more of an enquiry of folks opinion. Is anybody, like me, really disappointed so far with the 5th Season that's been airing on Sky One? I realise that they probably thought it was time to take the show in a new direction, I'm just wishing they hadn't. Any thoughts?

I thought the first few episodes were well below par, but recent ones have been OK. There's one called "Smiletime" coming up that sounds great.

I have been really dissapointed with season 5 so far.Perhaps its just as well that this season is likely to be the last.

I hate to say it, but I'm really starting to dislike Angel (the character), his self pity and moodiness are really starting to annoy me - thank God for the comedy of Spike! However, I'm sure that this is all part of Joss' grand plan as apparently things are going to get shaken up in a couple of episodes time. I'm more worried about the fact that the show has been cancelled in the US ...
