Do I Still Pay Maintenance To My Ex If My Daughter Is On Holiday With Me For 3 Weeks?
53 Answers
Hi, i have an 18 year old daughter i still pay child maintenance for as she is still in Full Time education, we are due to go on holiday next Thursday for just over 3 weeks, is it unreasonable for me to stop her payments as my daughter will be with me?
I'll be paying all her expenses whilst we're away so basically i'll be paying for her twice or is it more reasonable to pay a reduced sum for the 3 weeks she's with me.
I pay £65 a week, it's a mutual agreement and the CSA are not involved.
We hate the sight of each other so communication is a definite nono.

As to the rest, please refer to yogi's post at 18.52 page 1 and my comment @ 19.09 page 2 and you will see that I agree that the OP should continue with the payments. So what you have surmised I think, is not what I think at all.

Cripes....are you still debating this, winky?
Yes, read your 2nd paragraph and, of course, you should pay for your daughter whilst on holiday ....that's what parent's do, isn't it?. My wife and I have four children, and whenever we go away with any of them, or all of them, we pay for more or less everything. They may treat us to a burger every now and then.
Now in regards to paying your 'mutual agreement responsibilities' whilst your daughter is away with you, I have said before, and repeat that, in my opinion, if I were you, I would leave it as it is, as you mentioned in your last paragraph and I quote:
"We hate the sight of each other so communication is a definite nono."
It will only make matters worse and who knows what else....is it worth it?
Do the right thing, winky......and enjoy your holiday with your daughter, when you go. ☺
