If you make a mistake in your answer (in pen, so it cannot be rubbed out) and overwrite it with the correct answer, do you still post off your entry or do you think you will be disqualified. Thanks, I often wonder as sometimes i’m Inclined to be careless.

Alterations are usually disqualified, but most accept the use of Tipp-Ex
i don't see why it should be disqualified so long as it is clear

I have never seen the results show the names of those who submitted ineligible/incorrect/altered entries - so who knows?
I would use tippex
perhaps that's why I've never won much as I do alter things especially the skeleton xx
I queried this some time ago with The Telegraph and the Express and both said alterations by overwriting were not acceptable.
... if it's ascertained that altered grids will be disqualified i'm going to save a fortune in postage

The one problem with using tippex is that it tends to make a mess on the screen.
Pen would also make a mess on the screen
mind you it would be hard to spot altered grids that are scanned and entered by email

With Prize crosswords (e.g. Sat DT) does anyone have an idea or know if an entry submitted "online" using a self made template filled in using MS Word etc (i.e.without containing clue numbers) and copied as a jpeg is acceptable?
I don't think that there is a provision for entering other than by post.,
i enter telegraph crosswords via email

Sorry Flonska what I meant to say is that you can enter by E-mail by scanning the completed crossword.
Me too . . . hence my question @ 13:37.

The other thing I am not sure of, (assuming that a self made solution grid is acceptable), should it be attached as a jpeg to the e-mail or copied and pasted whole within the body text?
Danny - thanks for your post @ 13:42. This "crossed" with mine @ 13:44. Yes, I do scan the crossword from the paper but sometimes I have submitted my own grid when I have made a mistake in one or more answers.
Flonska, I am pretty sure that there is no way of getting round using the printed grid.
