Basically the company that bought the lease of the pub are conning them. They are trying to buy, By devious means, most of the Square in order to redevelop it. The is owned by Willmott- Brown, the guy who raped Kathy years ago

They are saying the Vic needs thousands of pounds worth of work and it's in the small print that they must maintain the property.
