a really good book

im of on holiday in 5 days and i want to buy a really good book to keep me entertained whilst sunbathing !
i like true crime stories, crime fiction, i like autobiographys, and true stories
can anyone reccomend anything??

Ben Eltons - Postmorten - is crime murder funny - i read it on holiday and couldn't put it down!!

I read Memoirs of a Geisha on holiday a few weeks ago - I read a lot and it is one of the few books I've read lately that I didn't want to put down. It's based on a true story

Another good one was Case Histories by Kate Atkinson - I don't usually like crime fiction but this was good!

The best true story I have read is called 'True Story' (how original!) its by a journalist called Michael Finkel who gets his identity stolen by a man who ends up being arested and trialled for murder, He then ends up staying in touch with him while he's in prison and all through his trial. Its brilliant.

I've just recommended this to someone else on AB. Its 'Night Song of the Last Tram' by Robert Dougls. Funny and sad, about his growing up in Glasgow. Last seen in ASDA. �3 something.

May be a bit heavy going, but anyone who is into autobiographies should read Martin Luther King Jr's one at least once in their life. It is very humbling and enlightening.

jodie picoult's books are really good - try Tenth Circle, Salem Falls or The pact.
