They're going off like the clappers here. How are your children / pets coping?

Just let the dog out for a pee before they start because he won't go once they have:-(
No idea... but probably.

Had some last Saturday, dogs not bothered, nothing since, suspect tomorrow night will be worse.
Maxie thank god doesn't hear them unlike my last dog Harvey. Anyway do think we don't celebrate Guy's here in Belfast - well so far I haven't heard any fireworks.
Got the big display at bluewater on 5th rather noisy occasion but we love watching it from our house
My kids are in the pub!! And the cat doesn't look fussed.
We just had a firework display in the village I live in and 1 dog is currently shaking in their boots, the other not bothered and poor Brice the cat is not too happy.

I know a couple of people who need to get sedatives from the vets when the fireworks are due.
yes my friend gets them
When the fireworks started going off here, two sleeping cats each opened one eye, looked up for a moment and then went straight back to sleep. The other two stayed fast asleep.

Fortunately for the pets round here, the really big (and noisy) annual community display (which was scheduled for tomorrow night) has been cancelled because the suppliers screwed up on the fireworks order. Even that though has never really worried my cats too much.
My dogs are more peed off because I'm watching Queen (rather loudly) on Beeb4
It's ok I am detached.
We heard one firework around 7pm
loads of family events here. Am using prescription meds for the first time and the dogs are zonked and shaking but better. I expect tomorrow (giant local display) and sunday to be worse..have got headroom on the meds dosage to cope
You not using Melatonin Woof?
Very loud bangers were going off between 1-2am! Who the hell does that?? Made me jump. I was awake anyway, but so annoying. I feel sorry for animals during this time.
yes, melatonin and a prescribed top up. We have bounced from bad weather to bad weather here plus a few out of season firework displays, plus we have got local organised displays last night and tomorrow night so I decided that melatonin was not going to be enough.
Any idea what the top up was Woof? I ask because my dog was reacting to fireworks the other evening despite one 1mg Melatonin.
