Throughout the past few months, rumours appear to be piling up that the GUI of the current Ubuntu OSs will be changing - for better, or worse?

It does appear to mean that those who are finding the advantages of this iX far better than the MS brigade.

Is there somebody in a position to appreciate what this new Ubuntu 18.04 is bringing for a user-interface; whether one has to learn new mini-commands?
Thank you.

If they're going back to GNOME I doubt that there will be anything too startling in the new release:

GNOME is notoriously resource-hungry on some machines though, so not everone is going to like the change back.

(If I'm playing with Linux I usually stick to the lightweight versions, as I'll typically be installing them onto ancient laptops. So the nearest I get to Ubuntu most of the time is probably Lubuntu).

B: That was an interesting link, with other items of interest. But, PC technology has obviously improved to meet the resource-challenge; otherwise such a move would not be entertained.
So, 'tis a case of GNOME sweet GNOME.
I'll keep that URL.
Thank you.
