Can you only use whatsapp if you have a smart phone? I only have a PC and an old fashioned pay as you go mobile flip phone, I'm not very well up with technology, but all my friends and family seem to use whatsapp now so I never find out what's going on.

There are a variety on offer, and I don't want to get into a ratings war with others as to which one to use. But my iPhone has now been shown itself to be invaluable in so many ways, and it doesn't cost a fortune.

Barsel.....you are giving up far too easily !....if you can post on here, then a smart Mobile will present no insuperable problems.

Whatsapp is only really useful if you frequently contact people overseas. If you only contact people in your own country then the free texts and minutes on your non-smart phone should suffice.
I use Skype on my pc, tablet and smartphone. I can call anyone in the world who also has Skype at no cost. Works very well on a desktop pc and the video calling is excellent
