The UK has a great deal of 'off shore' investment from outside the UK. To stop all off shore investment would hit the UK hardest because all investment from outside of the UK would dry up and we would be worse off for it.
In an case the queen has many overseas territories and should perhaps invest in them as well. The investment from her portfolio to say Brighthouse was less than £4,000 hmm not exactly a fortune.
The problem is not with these off shore bankingfacilities as such it is with a system that makes it advantageous to use them.
Simplify the tax system. Pear down the gobbledygook and double speak and make it so that money earned in this country, whether by an individual, small company, national or multi national organisation pays tax on income and cut tax breaks for 'overheads' based outside the UK. None of this , we have overheads and loans of £xxxmil in Outer Mongolia so we pay less UK tax.
