Motor Rallies.

Does anyone know how they get approval for these events? A lot of them (like the one coming past us at the moment) seem to take place partly on forestry land, so does in our case, Natural Resources Wales have a say?

The governing body for rallying in the UK is the RAC Motor Sports Association. All rallies are organised through the MSA who liaise with the Forestry Commissions of England, Scotland and Wales.

They're going along public roads as well, don't the police have a say? The spectators' and officials' cars today are parking in gateways and at the entrance to the village, and causing problems for the bus service and local residents. Not to mention the appalling noise we're having to put up with.

Usually events that may inconvenience local residents are publicised in local paper well in advance so representations can be made.

Things like agricultural shows or local pageants. Wouldn't want to set a precedent.

A friend of mine lives near a football ground. I'm sure he'd swap places!

Regarding parking etc, you need to speak to the local car club who organise the event. On open public roads, all laws apply. They will be using open roads to get between stages. If roads are closed, you would be informed well in advance.
