Take care, have a great break, Ray xx
Hi Dollie,
Betws is probably about 35 mile from holywell, you would go along the A55 towards Llandudno, turn off at the A470 turning towards Betws-Y-Coed and the 470 takes you direct into Betws, when you come off the A55 it is called Black Cat Roundabout about 5miles past Colwyn Bay Turning, it is about 18 miles to Betws once you come off 55
There is a good Chinese in Llandudno, The Jasmine House,if you didn't want the drive to Betws, or a good Hotel just outside LLandudno, called Bodysgallen Hall, that is pretty posh, lovely place though, theyve probably got a web site, but If you go to ty Gwyn, I would Recommend the restaurant, not the Bar , and they do Brilliant food, Steak Tower, Sirloin, Rack of lamb (massive) Fresh Conwy Trout or quite often Sea bass, god i'm getting hungry, we ate in there last week, but BOOK first, 01690 710383
I would not normally recommend anywhere, but we go there about once a month and never been let down, hope you wont be, sorry I don't know anywhere near Holywell, but you might find something in Chester, that would be nearer, have a great time Dollie & hubby, We are from London, but have lived here 25 years, the local people are very friendly, cheers now, bye, Ray xx, hope it has helped a bit.

Sorry it's taken so long to spot you Q, where exactly is the cottage you've booked? I live 3 miles from Holywell and there is not a lot there apart from the Holy Well (St Winifred's Well), which is supposed to be the lourdes of the UK. If you go inland from Holywell there is beutiful countryside and plenty of places for walking etc. Ray is right, Chester is not far (20 mins by car) and very atmospheric at xmas time. Theatre Clwyd in 'Mold' (pretty market town) as I know your interested in trhat sort of thing, or Pavillion Theatre in Llandudno. trying to remember the actor from Holywell, has been in films and was in Miss Saigon in the West End years ago???
