>>>Labour have been in power for only 27 years since their inception in 1900. Mostly with disastrous results ! We have seen many people critisize Thatcher over the years but people forget what a mess the country was in under labour in the years leading up to her first win (winter of discontent anyone?). This country was at WAR with unions who were dragging us...

"We have a rising rate of inflation,"
Modest inflation is good, and certainly preferable to deflation that we got close to.
"and a corresponding rise in interest rates. "
Interest rates are dangerously low they must go up. Interest rates are one way the BoE can steer the economy, at present they have their backs against the wall. Again negative interest rates, discussed a while back, are something you really dont want to experience.
"We also have total confusion over BREXIT. "
And what did you expect to happen? It's called negotiation, a concept I know you have little knowledge of judging by your previous comments over the last few months.
"Hardly a very stable situation is it ?"
I would say it is stable at present. Vote Mr Corbyn in if you want to see what unstable looks like.

//the economy is ok and unemployment lo//
That's because the UK economy has been deliberately managed (mainly by the Conservatives but also to an extent by New Labour) to look fine according to a few fairly superficial indicators, which actually disguises some extremely serious problems.
Employment is high, but also remarkably insecure and unprofitable. The UK has seen an enormous wage depression compared to other developed economies - earnings have been declining substantially when cost of living has soared. Relatedly, our economy has a serious productivity crisis which is only getting worse.
So the economy is doing just well enough to produce soundbites - which in a way is what it is designed to do - but it's not a particularly well-functioning one and it certainly isn't sustainable.
