Guarantees
Is there a legal start date for a guarantee? We've bought a new cooker recently but because we wanted a particular finish there was a 7 weeks wait from the order to delivery. The manufacturer is now saying that the 12 months guarantee is from the date of the order, not delivery but in the event of a problem during that last 7 weeks it would receive 'special consideration'. As this leaves the ball in their court I'm not happy.

Hope this helps as Google is throwing up so many different answers. The above came into Law October 2015 ( was Sale of Goods Act before that I think)

I have just read athe link and it seems to me to assume that the date of purchase and the date of delivery are the same....which of course often not the case. I would suggest that you contact the Consumer helpline to get a definitive answer.
