Pleased But Also Really Cross!

I think I posted a few months ago saying I had bought a pair of glasses from Specsavers with a lovely (but expensive)designer frame. The right arm developed a problem and stuck out too far so I took them back. They looked at them and said the hinge had snapped inside and the only solution was to buy a completely new pair. Lenses as well?. Yes apparently. They wanted me to pay the complete amount again and wouldn’t budge. I refused so they said try supergluing them!!
I left and didn’t have time to faff about so went to another local optician and ordered and paid for a new pair. Whilst there I happened to tell my story and the woman said she’d heard that before from that branch. So I get home last week and went on one of my Twitter rants to Specsavers. They immediately messaged me and asked for the branch etc. Within hours I had a call from said branch. I instantly recognised the voice as the guy I’d dealt with in branch but didn’t say anything. He asked me who I’d dealt with and I said I couldn’t recall the name. He then said that I’d been dealt with completely wrongly, that all glasses have a 2 year guarantee and that they would replace them completely free of charge. He then jokingly said was it a man as there are only two men here. Yes it was. He laughed and said it wasn’t me was it? I said well you wouldn’t have told me that would you. God no he said!
So he wants me to go in when I’m back from holidays to bring broken glasses and get new free pair. Then I will tell him it was him. Which he will deny.
So I’ve paid for a new pair somewhere else in the meantime! Grrrr....
