Friday. Frosty this morning. The sky is fairly clear, some stars out to play.

After cancelling everything yesterday to be here for the wee men, they never turned up. Not even a phone call to say why or apologize. Phone calls will be made later. Annoyed doesn't describe it! I'm not cancelling today unless I have a guarantee they will be here.

Morning all...sorry about being late. E-mail to the States as we are trying to see if we can get my eldest out of Israel and into here for some respite over Christmas (she didn't exactly have a comfortable trip out there what with the Hurricane, El Al security, lost and torn baggage etc so there is an underlying stress so some down time and reset may be a good idea) and given the state of the nation here with the mater and the house, well it's not easy.

Thame - home to Le Manoir, Raymond Blanc's place.....it's beautiful and brilliant - well worth splurging even if it's just for tea (that I think is about 30-40 quid - it's the totality of the experience, not just the food.

well it was eldest sis yesterday in France and then a bridge using v.old friends of ours in Surrey, and today a call to our builder to see if he can get the bedroom above back in order in terms of filling and plastering - and then if between us, we can get a lick of emulsion on it - we have it 95% cleared....
