My year old cat has started panting

We have a one year old cat and recently we got married and he went into the cattery. When we picked him up he seems to have developed panting. We also moved house last week, do you think it stress? After all he was running round a lot and getting excited about being back at home after the honeymoon and now we have moved hes got a new territory to check out.

I was wondering if anyone has had similiar problems with their cat. My husband says he may have cat asthma, I wanted to ask here before taking him to the vets, didnt want to over react.

i am not a cat expert but here goes.
sounds like your cat is dehydrated with the hot weather or he could be asthamtic or allergic to something . this many sound weird but cats can get asthma .
go to vet i think yiou should

excessive panting is not normal in any animal and if you are concerned (and have tried to keep the temperature low in the house given the current uk heatwave), then a visit to the vets is a must.

Take it to the vet.

My cat came in one evening panting slightly, he was dead about an hour later having had a heart attack. I'm sure your cat's fine but please take it to the vet.
