For more on marking an answer as the "Best Answer", please visit our FAQ.I suspect the alkaloid they are looking for is indeed nicotine and the formula is misprinted but if they are being devious there are nearly 2000 available compounds with the empirical formula C10H16N2. I don't know if any are found in tobacco!
