i now have one and its proving to be somewhat problematic, not that its not working, just that its doing some odd things.
for instance i recorded a film the other evening, it was Kingsman The Secret service,
but when i went to replay to watch it, a pop up box came on and asked for
a pin number. Has this happened to anyone else, i put in 1,2,3,4 and it worked
but can't fathom why it asked for pin number.

It may be something to do with the certificate of the film, emmie.
Some recordings on Sky are the same if it's considered 'adult content'.

There’s probably a way to switch it off. What make and model is your TV?

Was it broadcast after 9pm and you wanted to watch it earlier in the day?

You may have adult content control or whatever Samsung call it. I would go into the settings and have a look.

Is it the tv or recorder that needs the PIN? My guess is that it's the recorder

don't know, all i know is it threw me, so i just tapped in a number and away we went.

What recorder do you have? If you are recording to USBm using your remote go to Home, Settings, General, System Manager, Change PIN and see if there is an option to disable it

don't like to muck around with it too much, i'm worried will end up shutting it all off, especially as i had to have the installers in which cost quite a bit. they didn't explain all that much about any of it, so i am having to feel my way so to speak.

You'll just have to put up with entering the PIN when required, emmie

These issues are not related with the smart TV it is because of the type of file you downloaded as that may b protected by some pass codes.
