Self Defence For Kids
22 Answers
Would it be wrong to equip my daughter with some sort of self defence to use against another child? Thing 1 is tiny compared to her peers and a big lump of a girl (the same age) is picking her up and roughly carting her around the playground against her will. The school has dealt with this before and are aware of it this time - I thought it might be easier to equip my daughter to deal with it herself (and it might stop make the other girl think twice).

In the old days I would have gone in this morning to see the deputy head but this is no longer allowed (another new rule introduced on Monday), although if I thought it wasn't being dealt with I would have gone in regardless. I have every faith in the deputy head to deal with it appropriately (within the constraints of the new system). If she is unable to sort it out due to the new rules, and it continues/escalates I'm not adverse to having 'a word' with the mother (which will go in one ear and the other).
