Mintilingual symbols?

What to the Germans is a dragon, to the Spanish a Heavenly body, to the French and Italians a deer, and to the British a bird of prey? Cryptic I know, but any help much appreciated...

Im stumped on this one...I mean its really indobrit territory but dragon in german is draken, deer in french is cerf....the british burds of prey are the kite, merlin, shrike, peregrine falcon, sparrowhawk, kestrel, buzzard, honey buzzard and golden eagle. Oh and the occasional marsh harrier. Any more for any more?

Your not the only one stumped! i've been thinking about this one for a while. I understand the translations of the quotes, even the the spanish for several heavenly bodies but still nothing. I think it really must be a "symbol" thing. I wonder whether there is some mulitlingual symbol system of which connects them all? It's buggin me now im off down the pub. If you come up with anything Incitatus be sure to let us know.

I've got it. The answer is kite. German for kite - Drachen (dragon) French - cerf volant (flying deer) Spanish - Cometas (comet) And of course kite is a bird of prey.
