hi just after decimilisation and before the arab israel war i remember it at 35pence a gallon yes gallon and still complained about it then,it then doubled overnight, it was nearly impossible to fit ten pounds worth in a average car. ah the bad old days

Both prices for leaded
I cannot remember the date but I thought petrol was getting very expensive when it went over �1 for 4 gallons!
We used to have an all-night petrol pump that dispensed three gallons when you put in a pound note.
I remember my Dad got rid of his Triumph 2500 PI , as 5 star (who remembers 5 star!!?) went from 35 to 37p/gallon.
toureman your are giving your age away, that was mid to late fifties.careful now.
