was not going to bother withChristmas at all this year, heart not really in it but ...have spent the day dragging deccies down from the attic and everything is twinkling around me now...pleased I made the effort after all..cards tomorrow...climbing from the doldrums..slowly... anyone else got their deccies up ?
hotels jam packed already...and Hogmany week Edinburgh quadruples in population... lots going on.. fire festival..etc... ok if you like crowds etc... I'll put jammies on and watch from my sofa !!
From what I could discern Douglas he was part of the "social" watch and analyze crew. He could barely understand the accent though and latched onto me because he saw me talking to and having a laugh with the local lads and lassies. Every conversation was turned into a political social observation. When he was leathered he admitted to being in the pay of Uncle Sam to observe. I also had similar in the Blue Bar, Porthtowan, Cornwall with two very young operatives after inviting them to share our bay window seat one evening. A bottle of red wine sorted those two out. " She who must be obeyed" says I am like a "trouble" magnet. :))
Well, as some of you will know, as it's our 30th Christmas in our home and our last, so we've decided to go over the top with our decorations. We try to do a different colour scheme each year, but this year everything is going up. My wife is taking a week off, that should get it all done.
