Walk In Shower

Well just after having a bath which I don't have often - only the shower over the bath thingmajig.

I found it difficult getting out as with having pain now in both shoulders it is very painful getting out - before I embark on getting a walk-in shower perhaps in the new year - I would like a powerful shower and good ideas/tips for the shower enclosure too and also any pitfalls to avoid Thanks

We've found a rectangular cubicle rather than a small square one is great, we were used to the space of a wet room but the floor leaked and we had this on the insurance.
A thermostatic control is a good idea if there are others likely to run taps or whatever when you're in and, going back to the cubicle, a sliding door with a magnetic seal to avoid puddles while you're doing the moves to your singing.
Having the drain the the corner seems to make drying the tray easier too AND you can get a non-slip but shiny finish so no need for a rubber mat.
My mother had a fall last year and wrote off a hip so climbing over the bath was going to be problematic, she ended up with more or less the same as us and loves it.

Err can you provide me with an extremely powerful shower make - the one I have had for some years now is a Mira - but would truly like a stronger one - you know mild to extra strong - etc.

We have an Aqualesia Quartz Digital shower and it's brilliant- no chance of scalding etc, but not cheap I'm afraid

This is the one we had fitted, never knew you could have a decent shower off a combi boiler, just turn the tap to about 4 o'clock and away you go.

be careful of walk in showers as they have a tendency to soak everything, i have an enclosed shower with a base which cost me a tidy sum. It has a glass panel, or you can get a cubicle type which is just as good. I had mine installed because i couldn't use the bath any more.

what way do they soak everything Emmie - do you mean as you dry yourself outside of it - hence I would put a towel there.

i have a Triton power shower which suits me fine.. i paid 2k for the whole conversion which in today's market wasn't far off what i was expecting.

i was going to get a walk in shower, just the shower unit and nothing else but the builders advised against it, first off my bathroom is very small, so they installed a glass panel and base where the water drains away.

if your in the capital, which i doubt, i can recommend the builders, they did a first class job.

Jenny from memory it was around £500 but that was about 10 years ago and we've had no problems all with it. They are expensive but worth it in my opinion.
