I want to print screen off a web page. I know there's a way to do it without all your open tabs and apps showing at bottom and top of screen but I've forgotten. Any ideas?

Pressing PrtScn captures the whole of your screen, whereas pressing PrtScn and Alt together captures only the active window. The image is saved to your computer's clipboard and can be pasted from there into Paint, Word, etc. However if you need to edit the image (or, say, email it), the Snipping Tool is still far quicker.

do you mean full screen? which is F11

F1 doesn't do anything at all on my laptop. I mean a view that just takes the web page only view and not all the other tabs at the top and all the things at the bottom in the taskbar

The simplest way is to use the Windows Snipping Tool.
(Start > All Programs > Accessories > Snipping Tool)

You just use your mouse to draw a rectangle around the required area and then go to File > Save As. (Ensure that 'Type' is set to 'Jpeg File')
Or, siilar to Buenchico's method, I'd probably use printscreen key, paste into word and then crop

Ok I can fiddle with that but I know there's a key press that does it automatically as the IT guy at work showed me once but I've forgotten.

PS: If you expect to be capturing lots of screen images, it makes sense to put the Snipping Tool on the taskbar at the foot of your screen. (That's how I access it, with just a single click). To do so, go to Start > All Programs > Accessories. Right-click on 'Snipping Tool' and select 'Pin to taskbar'

I've double checked with IT this morning, it is Alt & Print Scrn together. That gets rid of the taskbar but still shows other open tabs. I'll just close them before I do it.
