no, but i might do BBC i player catch up, as it does look very interesting.
Yes it brought back some very vivid memories, I was unaware that they numbered each and every bomb though.

The 'Wartime Farm' that has recently been on was very interesting to.
I watched last weeks episode but haven't viewed last night yet. If it was as good as last weeks, it should be worth while giving it some time.
We watched last week's and thoroughly enjoyed it. We tend to record everything nowadays and watch at our convenience - most likely this evening.
I was five and living in south London ( Brixton) when war broke out so was evacuated to Kent with the first draft where I had the thrill of having a front seat watching the Battle of Britain from my host farm. On one particularly ferocious day a young bailed out Spitfire pilot parachuted into our field. Later, between a flurry of returns home and further evacuations to Wales and the Midlands I witnessed London ablaze from the roof of my dad's shed, the first doodle bugs and the dreaded V2 rockets.
So many memories - and I don't recall ever being afraid, just excited.

My mum and two brothers aged 3 and 7 months were in London during the blitz, they were all evacuated to Somerset eventually and stayed there, where I was born. Although I was told lots of stories about it all, until watching this I had no concept of how terrified my mum must have been for those little boys.
Sounds as if you were lucky, Horselady. Apart from my idyllic stay on a farm in Kent my experiences at seven different 'homes' were awful and in some cases amounted to cruelty. Affected the rest of my life. I was always glad to be home in the blitz !

Last night's had many moving moments - the children's essays and the lovely ladies who felt only now could they shed a tear.

A must watch.
