In the course of my work, when visiting couples at home, one of the questions I sometimes have to ask is
"who is the head of the household?"
The correct answer, from a Polling point of view is the one with the greater income. Bu I have lost count of how many times that chaps has given a wry smile and said that it must be him, and that he has his wife's permission to say so !

Something I've been banging on about at our place. Such items as melons, pears, peaches, nectarines, apples, etc are coming into store with a 48 hour 'Use By' date on them. When their 'time is up' we have to go through the reduction then waste procedure and honestly you could play football or cricket with them because they are still underripe or in perfect condition.
Good on the Co-op, but most of the items they refer to have a shelf life of about 6 months, so really there shouldn't be that much that goes past its date, unless the ordering procedure or stock rotation is none too good.

And when it is growing whiskers give it the dog or cat.
There is no need for anything like the waste we produce, people are too fussy these days. We were taught to clear the plate and not leave anything. In our house there is virtually no food waste. The council collect it separately but all ours has is bones and peelings

YMB....agree 100%...in my youth, empty plates were the order of the day, and anything else just wasn't possible.
I have seen my sister-in-laws put plate of food in front of my nieces and nephews, at least half the plate is then emptied into the bin. I think that is a shocking waste of food !
In addition these fussy, spoiled kids then get offered pudding !
