An Alarming Outing... :-)
13 Answers
My friend finally had her brain surgery four weeks ago......she needed a change of scenery and some bits for Christmas and as she can't drive yet or walk far I took her....
The tumour had done more damage than anticipated.....probably the long wait.....so a metal plate had been inserted into her head.....but, she was assured, there will be no problem and it won't set off any alarms....
Wrong! She set off the security alarms in every shop we visited......
We've had an alarming....and very noisy outing...... :-)

In fact her BP yesterday was normal for the first time she can remember......not sure what it was by the time we got home today!
Very neat scar.....forty odd clips taken out but you'd hardy notice it now....x

I once bought an expensive book in Waterstones, in central Norwich, during the buy pre-Christmas period but, as I went to leave the store, the alarm was triggered. I started to turn back but an assistant said "Don't worry. We know you've paid for it. Off you go". The only problem was that Waterstones was the very first store I'd visited during a lengthy shopping trip and, as I was to find out, all of the other stores in Norwich had the same security system!
In Colchester though, as far as I can see, anyone is free to nick what they like from the Wilkinson's store in the town centre. All you have to when the alarm goes off is to smile and say "Library book!" and the staff simply smile back and say "OK!" (That's because the store is just across the road from the Central Library and, while books properly taken out of the library don't trigger the library's own security system, they still trigger the one in Wilkinson's!)

Chris.......not one person challenged us today.....we went back into shops when the alarms sounded.....stood, smiled and waited....but the checkout folk just waved us out.....
I was challenged many years ago in a shop in Kettering....T.J.Hughes. They took me back inside....looked in my bag.....I took off my coat.....my shoes.....still the alarm sounded....
Turned out it was the wires in my bra......and they were only little wires...... :-)
