Can My Son Get His Deposit Back?
My son has split from his wife due to her infidelity on numerous occasions over the last six years, all of which he knew nothing until, October.
He has moved out of the rented marital home and has rented another property after informing the old landlord that he would no longer be liable for the rent each month. His wife is staying on in the house and has taken over the rent.
My question is: Can my son request the quite hefty deposit back from the landlord that he alone paid?
Or....... is it my daughter-in-law who should stump up the money and give it back to my son?
Is it something that could be pursued through the courts, as I very much doubt the despicable woman would want to pay it. They are just about staying civil for the sake of the children.
He used to pay for virtually everything, even her phone, and he has just found out that although he informed the phone company that he no longer wanted the phone, because he kept the DD open for them to collect the last payment, she bought 25gig packages of data without telling him, worth £115!!
Any advice would be gratefully received.
