A colony of bacteria is a cluster of bacteria that originated from a single cell
Cyanobacteria get energy from photosynthesis. They are the only bacteria to give off oxygen through photosynthesis and were responsible for oxygenating the atmosphere and so creating the environment for the evolution of plants and animals.
E. Coli lives in the lower intestines of mammals and is necessary to digest food.
Acidophilus is a particular type of bacteria that feeds on lactose which is only found in milk. But i suppose the general answer would be sufficient: warmth and food source.
E. Coli is Gram-negative S. Epidermidis is Gram-positive
