I have windows 10 on a Lenovo notebook and it has always worked perfectly. recently when trying to burn a cd via windows media player a message flashes up saying 'the dvd drive is in use, wait a few minutes and try again' - OF COURSE its in use, MY blank cd is in it waiting for you pillocks to start the burn! I have tried with at least 4 blank cd discs of different makes, no joy, yet I CAN play cd's/videos no problem. Any advice please? Thanks folks.

Ruddy 'eck! We've found one of the very, very few computer users who actually tries to use Windows Media Player! It is, and always has been, a total disaster!

Try using a dedicated burning program to see if the problem disappears. The obvious choice is this excellent freebie:
