Hi I have been feeling ill for a few days constant nausea. And tonight when I was at mum and dads for tea I began to feel really rough. Shivery headaches and dizziness when I moved and aching joints. I am now in bed feeling awful every time I move. I had the flu jab this year and I get it every year because I am type2 diabetic. But even if I have had the flu jab could I stil get it?

Yes you can.

See a doctor

Hope it doesn't knock you about too much.

ps: I would have thought the symptoms would have included craving a meat pie and can of lager ;-/

Thanks that sounds quite concerning
OK I have no idea who David Jack is but the only research evidence based effect of taking large doses of vitamin C is a large dose of the gallopers.....and it will be a cold day in hell before I start taking health advice from the Sun newspaper. Yes you may have flu. The flu jab is not 100% successful but Aussie flu? I doubt it unless you have been there.
Hope you are better soon xx
//but Aussie flu? I doubt it unless you have been there.//

Germs, bacteria, viruses travel the world without a passport Woofgang.

It only takes one infected traveller.
Minty, you forgot "maa wee sausage"

Gordie will be devastated ;-)
Wrong Geordie OZ !
Gordie even..
Ooops, silly Oz
Well gordie, there is your answer.....flu.
Not convinced as to the strain......but does it matter?
Stay in, drink plenty , Ibuprofen or similar and watch those blood sugars. If they star to rise alarmingly , then call your GP and if you develop a cough or shortness of breath, then seek medical aid.
The yearly jab is related to the anticipated strain for the winter. Other strains may be unaffected. Good luck shaking it off.
1ozzy, indeed they do but it takes more than one traveller to start a flu epidemic going.
yes you can sadly...
Ive just recovered from a winter bug that sounds similar to yours, It has taken about 2 weeks to feel better again, plenty of rest, warmth, hot drinks, paracetamol, I have a residual cough that is gradually disappearing, not sure if it was the Aussie bug, I caught it at work and at the moment I am one of many at work who has had it so far. Roll on spring!
